Mother with Her 2yr Old Baby Shot Dead During Festac Robbery

Findings have revealed that a woman and her baby, who is just a little over one year have been shot dead during the robbery incident that occurred in Festac area of Lagos state earlier today.

This much was disclosed by the victim’s neighbour, during a brief chat with our correspondent shortly after the incident which took place at the Diamond and Access bank branches on 4th Avenue, Festac Town.The victim, who resides at Flat 13, Block 8, in thesame area, was said to have been confused when she started hearing gunshots from different angles during the attack and tried to take cover from the bullets when she was hit.

The block 8 residence of the woman and daughter who were reportedly killed during the banks’ robbery in Festac earlier today.

This situation has thrown her neighbours and friends into a state of confusion as scoops have it that the husband was away at work when the unfortunate incident happened.

“She was sleeping when she started hearing the gunshots and in her confused state, she tried to take cover when she was hit by the bullet, as well as her baby who is just a little over one year.

“The baby died instantly and I think the mother, who was immediately rushed to the hospital, also lost her life in the process,”the young man narrated.

Two other people were also confirmed to have been hit by the robbers’ bullets during the operation as the nobody could dare them while the whole duel lasted.

The canal where the robbers escaped from According to a mechanic who works in the area, an unidentified man who parked his car close to the scene of the robbery was also hit by stray bullets, as well as a security man in one of the banks.

“The distance between the place of the operationand where the man parked is car is quite far, but just for you to know how sophisticated the robbers’ guns were, the man was hit by a stray bullet where he stayed.

How did those people get the soldiers’ uniforms that they used for the operation? How come police officers who used to stay somewhere around the banks were not on duty? How did the robbers get to know about the money that was lodged in the banks recently?“The shots from the robbery incident were worsethan anything I have ever watched even in the movies, it was very terrible, the gunshots were sounding like bombs,”he lamented.

Meanwhile,the Lagos state PPRO, Joseph Offor, has informed that about N27 million and 240 rounds of ammunition have been recovered fromthe spot where the robbery took place.
