Today TheSeedStars World Startup Competitionwill be held in Abidjan, Ivory Coast with 9 startups selected to pitch at the event.In no particular order, the startups to pitch at the event are Planéte Sports, Tounkaa, BaraChic, SabiCash, Airshop, Titrophone, LIFI-LED Cote D’Ivoire, Zoexpertiz, ICT4Dev.ci and Africa MediaGroup.
According to Gregory Pepper, Regional Manager for Africa at Seedstars World, “We are very excited to hear that some of the best Ivorian entrepreneurs will be pitching on Wednesday. Since we have been on ground, we have discovered a vibrant community of innovators and very talented developers.
He went further to say that “It is important to shine the light on the local pioneers, who give hope and show the way to the rest of the community”.
The winning startup, which will be picked by a jury panel consisting of some of the big names inthe tech scene in Ivory Coast and the investment world such as Ezekiel Odiogo and Christian Roland, will be heading Geneva, Switzerland for the global finals next year to compete with other startups for a chance to grab US$500,000 in investment.The SeedStars World Startup Competition has already taken place in Mozambique, South Africa, Nigeria and Ghana.
